Health Training for your dogz

Here at AK, each dog is trained with my own formulated method, which aims to increase a dogz' health, confidence, mental abilities, and fitness. This then leads to the dog finding a suitable petzy career, be it agility, obedience or confirmation. You can apply these training techniques to your dogz too; you'll soon find that your bond with them improves and that they are a lot happier in thier environment.

How to give to give your dogz Health training

Step one - Give your dogz some basic training

This training method involves actually playing with your petz, interacting with them to form a bond. Therefore, you can begin to form this bond by giving your dogz some basic training. Grab a box of treats from the toy closet, and go to a room with no distractions. The playpen is very good.
Then, get your dogz' attention with a yummy snack and wiggle your cursor to get your pet to attempt a 'trick.' If it's the first time you've done this with a certain pet then they'll probably not do anything at all, or will simply do something silly (attmept a trick but fail miserably.) Your job is to get the dog to respond to up, down and side commands, and make sure you drop the treat to reward the dog each time he does something right.

Try getting your dog to sit, lie down, beg, sidepass, wave and jump. This increases your dogz' fitness and gives him some mental stimulation.

Step two: Teach your petz to fetch, retreive and come when called

This is a lot easier once you've stablished some basic training explained above with your dog. Disobedient or untrained dogz will not come when called, and refuse to let go of toyz they've fetched. It's annoying, but it can be fixed. Once you've given your dogz the basic training required, you can get to the next fun bit.

Take your dog to a place with a few distractions. The back yard or beach are good locations. Let the dog become accustomed to his or her surroundings, and then double click with your cursor. At first, your dog may just look at you when you whistle for him to come; don't give up. Keep trying until the dog walks or trots over to your cursor. Pet your dog for coming when called, as this is a great reward.
Over time you will notice that when you call your dog, his response will become quicker and he will run up to the cursor opposed to dawdling up with a bored expression.

Once this is mastered, you can begin to teach your dog to fetch and retrieve. Start off with a soft, light object like the chewtoy, or the tennis ball. Once your dog has realised you've got a toy in your hand and begins to show an interest, you can throw it. Hopefully, if you've mastered the basic training properly, he should run after it, and pick it up.
Call your dog to you, as you did before. He should bring the toy over. Pet the dog, perhaps give him a treat to encourage him to drop the toy and eat the biscuit. Once the dog has dropped the toy by you, you need to reward him big time!
As time goes on, increase the size of the toy you throw to increase your dogz' confidence - big, awkward objects that are heavy to pick up may seem daunting, but your dog should be encouraged to pick them up over time.

Step three: Excersise and mental stimulation are the keys!

Well, now you've mastered basic training and obedience with your dog, you should be focusing on increasing his fitness and mental stimulation. These things do come with the previous excersises, but you should be getting your dog to try new things and take more excersise. A great way to complete and maintain the health training process is to try pole-weaves with your dog.
Even if the dog hates agility, speed doesn't matter. It should be fun for the pet, and will increase his fitness and mental capacity. Any 'poles' can be used, such as the ones below (from PDH), cat scratching posts, or the tall stools that come with the circus.
